Coat of arms
The coat of arms of the Alexian brotherhood shows a pelican, which feeds its young with its heart blood - a symbol for the all-consuming Christian love.
In one field of the coat of arms two spades are presented - as memory of the earlier work of our confreres at the funeral of the dead ones. The third field with the raven, which holds a bread loaf in its bill, points out the supply of the poor, as the Alexians practice it over centuries.
Over the coat of arms a cross rises up, and a band carries the words of the apostle Paulus: "The Love of Christ compels us".
