For many people, Easter means a few days off work, hunting for Easter eggs and eating chocolate. For us Christians, Easter is a celebration of joy and of the triumph of life over death. Easter is the culmination of Holy Week, the most important time in the church calendar that begins with Palm Sunday and leads up to the day of the Resurrection of Christ. During that week, a special liturgy guides us through the days as our communities remember the suffering, death and Resurrection of Jesus. Holy Week is a time of quiet reflection. In today's world, we are not used any more to silence and quietude. However, the more noisy the world around us, the more we long for silence and peace. We wish all who walk and believe with us a blessed Holy Week and a joyous Easter.
